Roth IRA's are not "aggressive" investments
WRITTEN BY: Gideon Drucker, CFP® AIF® ECA
A Roth IRA is not conservative...but nor is it aggressive.
A Roth IRA is not a type of investment but rather is the tax wrapper that fits around the investment (stocks, bonds, index funds, mutual funds, cash etc.) that you choose.
Think of the Roth IRA like a refrigerator.
You can put any type of food in the refrigerator that you want...your fridge might be full of healthy food while mine is full of pizza and leftovers. But in any case, saying the fridge is “healthy" is like saying that a Roth IRA is conservative...it doesn’t make any sense because that detail depends entirely on what is put inside of the Roth IRA/refrigerator.
We love Roth IRA’s. Backdoor Roth IRA’s. Mega Backdoor Roth IRA’s. Roth Conversions.
Being able to build up an account type that grows tax free & distributes in retirement tax free is a huge opportunity.
